Donegal Action for Cancer Care

have organised and are funding for the

Big Bus

 to come to the Brunswick Superbowl in Derry on the

the 15th and 16th May 08

DACC have already funded the bus that came on the

29th & 30th January 08.

Unfortunately it couldn’t be organised for earlier as the service is booked up.

The Big Bus service can accomadate 20 women per day as part of this service with an additional 5 spots available for cancellations.

 

 

DACC (Donegal Action for Cancer Care) are bringing Action Cancer's mobile health care resource the BIG BUS to Brunswick Superbowl car park, Springtown, Co Derry on 29th & 30th January 2008 and 15th & 16th May 2008.

The BIG BUS provides an array of services including support services for people affected by cancer through Complementary Therapies such as reflexology, aromatherapy, massage and touch therapy.  A Listening Ear service provides emotional and practical support to people dealing with cancer.  People affected by cancer can include a person diagnosed, a relative, carer and even a close friend. 
The BIG BUS offers health checks to males and females aged 18+ years where menu of health check options including BMI, cholesterol, blood pressure, lung capacity, facial skin scanner analysis as well as information and advice around self examination and health lifestyle is provided. 

Using the latest digital mammography technology females aged between 40-49 years and over 65 years can receive a mammogram on board with results processed within 3 weeks.  Ladies must not be presenting symptoms or have recently had a mammogram.   

The BIG BUS services are free of charge to the end user.  Action Cancer relies on donations to provide vital services to the community and donations onboard will be greatly appreciated by the charity.  To male an appointment for any of the above dates please call 048 9080 3344 giving DACC as your reference.
