     Thank you everyone !

Dear Friends,

It is with a sense of great pride, that we acknowledge all your support and say this

 “Thank You”

 to everyone.

DACC is an organisation that has risen to the many challenges it has had to face, with energy, respect, dignity and determination.

It is an organisation to be proud off!

Sometimes in the hussel and bussel of getting the work done, we forget to take the time to stop and say thank you.

The journey has not always been an easy one, but as cancer knows no boundaries, and unfortuantely in the media every day for the wrong reasons, it is more important than ever that we continue to work hard, in a committed, focused and respectful way.

Improved Cancer Services for the People of Donegal, on an “Equal Access for Equal Need” basis is not a job for one or even a group of people, it is for us all to help in any way we can.

With this in mind we would like to very sincerely thank anyone who has ever helped in any way with the work of DACC. You may feel that the bit that you have contributed is small but believe us, it all adds up and all help no matter how big or small helps and is appreciated.

Credit for all the great work does not belong to a few, but to everyone who has helped in any way, be it in the giving of their time, donations, fundraising, attending meetings, photocopying, called into the office, attended functions, sponsorship, organising and distributing information for local meetings etc, we have all together contributed to our success.

We in DACC believe all people are equal.

It is a journey, one which was started well over 2 years ago and hopefully will continue through time, so that the people of Donegal for generations to come, are enabled to have every opportunity to achieve a sense of wellness, health and quality of life through education and access to appropriate services.

DACC have many achievements to be proud off, the most memorable being “The Awareness Rally” in May 06 with 15,000 people from all walks of life taking to the streets in a respectful and dignified manner.

That day the people of Donegal gave DACC the mandate to work towards ensuring that all that can be done by the people, for the betterment of cancer services, would be done.

Work within DACC is ongoing, with letters being written to relevant people and organisations, meetings, phone calls, reporting at meetings, the establishment of an office, the Information Booklet for Cancer Patients and their Families to name but a few.

To everyone, no matter who or where,

as individuals, local committee’s and at county level a very

“Sincere Thank You”.

“If each of us did a little, then we together can effect profound change”

Please continue to help us with this journey. Get involved please.

“How far that little candle throws his beams!

So shines a good deed in a weary world.”

  • A Volunteer's Prayer
  • Pulpit Helps, August 1992
  • "I thank Thee, Lord as a volunteer
For the chance to serve another year.
And to give of myself in some small way,
To those not blessed as I each day.
    • My thanks for health and mind and soul,
To aid me ever toward my goal.
For eyes to see the good in all,
A hand to extend before a fall.
For legs to go where the need is great,
      Learning to love—forgetting to hate.
For ears to hear and heart to care,
When someone's cross is hard to bear.
A smile to show my affection true,
With energy aplenty—the task to do.
    • And all I ask, dear Lord, if I may,
Is to serve you better day by day."
